ECCO UNVEILS BIOM HYBRID 3
Ecco Golf’s new Biom Hybrid 3 shoes feature a brand new outsole that promises to deliver unparalleled levels of traction and swing support for a hybrid design.
The Biom Hybrid 3, which is available in both mens’ and women’s models, features a new Tri-Fi-Grip sole which enhances stability, durability and rotational support.
The sole is divided into three distinct zones, whose structure is a result of intensive research and data analysis in Ecco Golf’s R&D centre. Each is formed from ultra-durable TPU, meaning the shoes can be worn on and off course without affecting performance.
Zone 1 focuses on delivering lateral stability throughout the swing; Zone 2 forms the middle of the outsole, and is designed to guarantee walking comfort, and features a durability region in the heel where shoes can be prone to wearing; while Zone 3 is a specially engineered rotational section designed to optimise the movement in the forefoot through rounded lugs which promote fast and easy rotation through the swing.
Ecco Golf’s lead shoe designer Andrzej Bikowski said: “We approached this project with the question; how can we make the best, better? By combining our new Tri-Fi-Grip innovation with the same technological features created by the Biom last, I believe we have achieved our goal. The fact that all Biom Hybrid 3 models offer complete waterproof Gore-Tex construction further exemplifies our commitment to progress and excellence.”
Additional features include Yak leather uppers; 100% Gore-Tex waterproof protection, guaranteed for three years; the option of a laceless BOA closure system; and removable Ortholite inlay soles.
As is the case with all of the golf shoes in Ecco’s Spring/Summer 2018 range, the Biom Hybrid 3 benefits from Fluidform technology, which bonds the upper and outsole unit without the use of glue or stitching, which enhances flexibility and durability, as well as making the shoe lighter.
The Mens’ Biom Hybrid 3 has an RRP of £190, or £200 for BOA closure. The ladies model has a corresponding RRP of £170 and £180.
